    what is the red idiot light next to the speedo for, something to do with the speed limited speedo?

    side stand light
    Preservation over restoration - they are only original once

    wow okay I didn't know they came with a side stand light that early on.

    It's a speed warning light, not a side stand warning light. It flashed when it exceeded 80 km / h. In Japan at that time, the maximum speed limit for motorcycles was 80 km / h.

    Hi Glen San,
    the owners at that time thought it was unnecessary and clunky and often removed it. As a result, there are very few vehicles which still have a speed warning light nowadays.

    I added one from the import 750 to my 1100 and use it as a low fuel warning light coupled to the thermister in the fuel pump tank.
    Instead of running an LED light and a 2w or so resistor I just used the 2w filament globe.

    Its not for a Kat build it from new parts...but if we did want to put an oil cooler on here is a new one.
