Just a few Katana 1100 Parts for sale (part 1)

    Hi All,

It's been a long time since I posted in here, but I have been lurking around the forum for, well, a long time too...

For those who remember me, you will recall what happened to Peter and I about 4 years back, for those that don't know or remember, two Kats were in a big accident; mine was a total write off... I bought another from Old Gold in Sydney (which was bent too) and restored that. Sold it just recently to fund the bigger Kat restoration, and a new BMW...

Anyway, I'm moving house, and I have a few bits and pieces from that original bike and from the Old Gold imported that can be moved on.

Thought I would list here for a few days first before going to eBay and Gumtree.

    I have:
    • Two front wheels (one with a tyre)
    • One rear wheel with sprocket and disc
    • Front brake and right handlebar and master cylinder (the lid of the cylinder is cracked)
    • One pair of bent forks (Maybe useful for some internals...?)
    • One reupholstered seat with a brand new strap

I'm happy to take any reasonable offer for any of the parts. I am in Melbourne so keep that in mind...

The seat however, is just beautiful. It was professionally reupholstered by [insert the guys name... can't remember...] in Bundaberg with shark skin material. I actually got two seats done at the same time as the blue colour went end of life... The reupholstering cost me over $300 per seat and the strap was $75 from Mick hone.

I have had to split this posting into two separate threads....

Some photos are below and some in the next post...

    Hi Phil,
Sorry I've done this backward, reading your post number 2 before post number 1!

I know you haven't listed this but might you have the internals of the speedo available for sale? I'm having the devils own time at the moment getting an errant speed to read correctly on my son's 1100 SZ Kat. At the moment it is reading about 180kph when travelling at 80kph!!

    Cheers
    Rob

    Hi Glen,

Yes for sure I remember our phone call and getting the dampers out of the bent forks; what fun that was!

I'll send you a PM now about the seat.

    Regards,
    Phil

    Hi Rob,

Sorry no, I don't. The dash was smashed to bits and what was left, Peter grabbed such as the idiot lights. Pete does have quite a few parts for speedos and tacho, so it would be worth a call to him.

    Regards,
    Phil

G'day Phil, is that seat still for sale & if so how much?
    Cheers Soxy.
If Brocky had ridden bikes, I'm sure he would have been a Katana man! RIP Brocky 05.

BTW Phil, the guy who recovered it was Gavin J H Fowkes from Sugar Coast Canvas & Trimming.
