Using a big block and only taking it out to 1260 is a waste, go 1500, no difference in setup, the 1260 sleeves in a stock barrel (Bens setup) still have to machine the top case to fit, also, there is the top end oiler fitted, no need for that unless you have blocked off the oil feed through the 4 outside head studs and if you use a stock barrel with 1260 sleeves and stock head studs, no need for top end oiler, I have a 1360 setup with stock barrel (81mm bore) and APE heavy duty head studs (they were cheaper than stock studs), I do not have a top end oiler, it all just works nicely, it also runs 10's at Willowbank.

I second that. 1260 is a great size if you keep standard barrels. If you're coughing up for a big bore barrel, take it out to as big as possible. Remember I said a big engine is more rideable.
Someone on here with a 1500cc tells me that there's no need to go past 6k rpm for anything other than all out drag racing where he gets his 200+ hp.
