Sorry Nige, I was being sarcastic. You are correct. The 'Bathurst/6-Hour Special' is a unicorn, i.e mythical. My understanding is that there is a limited edition Aussie SXZ identifiable by chassis and engine numbers, and the NZ (and South African) spec SXZ which got a few more goodies/ponies. Some please correct me if I've got anything wrong.

Hi Nige, looks like the mythical "Bathurst Special" title is still being mentioned when a W.W. Kat is up for sale. "Bathurst Special" was never an official model/title for the Australian SXZ Kats, just a nick name they picked up along the way because of the W.W. fitted as factory ex-Japan. The Australian delivered (Saffer and Kiwi genuine SXZ Race Specials with all the goodies fitted to the 45 (20 for N.Z. and 25 for S.A. SXZ Kats built by Suzuki are not included in this chat) GSX 1100 SXZ Kats were a stock 1100 SZ, stock 34mm CV carbs not the slides like S.A. and N.Z.

Only two things are different on the Australian SXZ compared to the stock Australian SZ.

    1. SXZ Frame and V.I.N. start with a 1. Stock SZ frame and V.I.N. start with a 5.

    2. Fitted with Takasago wire wheels, 19 x 1.85 front and 18 x 2.50 rear. Alloy rims front and rear and date stamped.

    Cheers mate.
Badgezz, we don need nor stinkin' badgezz!

Cheers Glen. Yep sorry Darryl the ole sarcasm went way over my head on that one.
The bloke stated that he owned it for 30 years and never been dropped yet the frame was way different in colour ( maybe just the pics? ).
So when I sell my Takasago rims to Soxy and who happens to lives in Bathurst that must make his bike "a special" then!

The wee beastie needs some TLC... to be 100% honest I'd love to replace it with a GSX400S Kat though, but they never come up for sale... and I don't have the cash anyway
    1984 Katana 7/11 - done at last!

    1982 GS450E - not quite stock
