    Brake pedal wanted

I'm old, I'm overweight & I'm arthritic so riding my Katana in stock form is not a pleasant experience. The stretch to the bars I can handle but getting both feet on the footrests I can't so the bike sits unused and gathering dust. There's not much point owning a bike if you can't ride it so yesterday I made a couple of brackets and footrests that now sit 50mm lower than original. The problem I have is the brake pedal sits too high and needs bending to get the right position. I could bend the one I've got but want to keep it in case I decide to return the bike to stock.

Question ... Is there a brake pedal that will fit the 1100SZ spline and if so, what model Suzuki and does anyone have something to sell?

If I have understood right what you are meaning, you may need a spare brake pedal for SZ, may you not? In this case, you don't have to look for substitutes, because there are still the original brake pedals for SZ as new old stock or used parts.(part number 43110-49301) It will be not difficalt to get them on ebay or other net auction etc...

    For example: https://www.ebay.it/itm/LEVA-FRENO-P...:rk:1:razz:f:0

That's exactly what I want but not at that price. What I mainly want is a list of bikes with a brake pedal that uses the same spline so I can ring a few wrecking yards.

When I bought mine, it had a left hand peg (badly) fitted to the right hand side, along with a GSX1100 brake pedal.

A new katana pedal is $85 from Mick Hone.

Maybe the way to go & modify the existing one. I'd like to deal with Mick Hone but there's no 1100SZ Katana on his web site or am I looking in the wrong section. Do I have to look elsewhere first for a part number then ask Hone's?

    Hi Snapey
On mike Hone's site if you look for 1982 GSX750 or 1000 will have same part number as it's almost all interchangeable ( exclude engine parts and engine mounts ).

I'm pretty sure I have a spare one in good nick but won't know until tomorrow as too late and its started raining.
    Will check in the morning.

    Apologies Derick, I'm not worthy.

    Of course I meant GSX750S ( it's the only 750 in MH 1982 section )

No drama - other Suzuki suppliers list both and the pedals are quiet different. Same shaft diameter etc but different length and offset - so the GSX one may actually be of interest to him. Cheers.

The main thing I'm after is the section that clamps on the spline. I could weld that on to a custom arm. The problem I have ATM is the part the foot contacts sits too high & needs to be about 30mm lower but the arm sits too close to the footrest & hits on braking. So I need more clearance over the footrest & the arm bent down to get the pedal part lower. Photo required me thinks ... at 4.42am.DSCN0306.JPG
