I got to agree. Trying to flog off iPhones, politics (especially some other country's politics), religious opinion and other conspiracy theories have many, many other forums filled to the gunwales with eager, willing participants. I'm here because of my tawdry, some say, unnatural attachment to my Katana. I feel safe here. I'd like it to stay that way.

Nationality and ideology or beliefs are various, whereas we are comrades through Katana in this forum. I'm looking forward to continued posting about Katana from Patrick.

These swords are for the officers in the Imperial Japanese Army. As a result of examining from the author's name, the one of these was a Sword maker in Gifu Prefecture. He was already deceased and his factory was not left. This sword is one of things that passed to America as a war loot.

You can buy a practical sword. The price is around 250,000 yen, unused of course.....maybe...
Sword is quiet booming now in Japan, centered on young women. Such young women called "touken jyoshi".(刀剣女子) It seems to be the influence of online games called "touken ranbu".(刀剣乱舞)

Getting genuine swords out of Japan back to OZ is very hard and costly. It is possibly cheaper and is easier to buy proper ( also vintage ) Katana that is already over this way.
I looked into it when I was going over there but ended up in a fair bit of red tape and rigmarole and $$$.
You can buy touristy stuff like you can in your local knife, gun or disposal store. But I wanted to put my money on something proper.
    Maybe one day.
