Thread: The New Katana

  1. #31
Japanese Suzuki dealers began accepting reservations for new Katana and Katana helmet since yesterday. The price of the motorcycle is undecided, the helmet is 69120 yen. The release seems to be scheduled from May to June. There is no information of novelty goods such as key ring.

That appears in line with what we have been told in Australia.
We are expecting release from July to September.
Have hey said how many helmets would be available in Japan.
They state only first 50 for Aust.
Per-order customers here have received a hard cover picture album of the Katana

Since the number of sales of the helmet is not limited in Japan, I think that it will be sold according to the number of orders, regardless of the purchase of a new Katana. But I think the list price of this helmet in Japan is too high. In Australia it is not as expensive as the price in Japan, is it? Japanese per-order customers have received nothing such as a hard cover picture album of the Katana. Japanese motorcycle makers do not expect to Japanese people.

    Ahh, I see.

They claim the helmet is $995 ( 79,500 ) value. This in line with the Arai QV-Pro which ranges from $849 to $999.

Don't know if it will be available to order here separately, was liking the idea of it only being available with the bike.

It was unexpected that the price of the helmet in Australia was also high. This helmet is more expensive than the Arai RX-7 which I purchased before or Suzuki Choinori.

I note that the photo book is shown on the Katana product page at www.globalsuzuki.com and even has a part number printed on the back cover 99999-A0036-PM1.

Mine does not have the part number but says 'Printed in Australia' so that makes it also a Limited Edition

Also, Thomas Whiteoak found interesting page at http://www.unicornjapan.com/new/new_bike/

    Cheers

If I compare with you, you are a well-informed man like the CIA or KGB. I tried to order with the part number as you indicated, but it is still not currently being used for the JDM, or not yet set in the JDM. Well, the sales of the helmets seems to be good despite the high price. Although it is publicly announced that sales are limited, the specific number has not been made clear. Probably it will increase production if there are many orders.....In my opinion.

Unicorn's website was updated. According to it, the sale of the helmet is made to order, it seems to be limited to the order until 15 o'clock on February 15, and the delivery is from May to June. And then Unicorn seems to give something to customers who ordered helmets. It seems that novelty goods are not prepared as Suzuki motorcycle corporate. Well, this is the case in the JDM.

I wonder if it is the elusive Key Ring.
One person in Australia received a 2020 Katana key ring with their photo book

For now at least in Japan I can not confirm the existence of such key ring and photo book. I guess that key ring is a unique product of Suzuki dealer in Australia or other countries, and not Suzuki genuine part. Is it incorrect?
