    750 rebuild to 816

    Hi all
Have had a set of Wiseco 816 Pistons on hand together with cam chain parts for some time, but now feel it's time to look at doing the full engine re-build.

Can anyone recommend a quality engine rebuilder in the Sydney / greater Sydney area?

Wanting someone I can hand the engine and pets to, with a design brief, and trust they will do a quality rebuild.

Also, any advise such as head rebuild / options appreciated.

Wanting have the whole crank, rods and Pistons balanced

    Cheers
    Stuart

Greg Ball engineering in Kirrawee will sort out the head work, porting, boring, valves etc.
Has been in the bike world for centuries doing big name race engines back in the day. Great bloke too.
I had my motor put together by a bloke in Helensberg that Greg put me onto.
He was in the race industry working on these old dinosaurs also.
They did my motor and it has been pretty sweet from day one.

Hey Stuart, you can give Steve at Old Gold Motorcycles a call as he races Katana's and he will give you info on who does his engines and what he does at the work shop of Old Gold at Londonderry near Windsor.

    Thanks gents
Will give Greg Ball and Steve a call.

Early days yet as have to save up some $$$'s as don't want to do a 50% job as will never get back to do again.

This rebuild will need to last 30+ years

    Cheers

Hey Tomcat - good move mate.

Had the this kit put into my bike some time back. Feels really nice - just having those carby issues as per my other thread (which dont effect the performance once the throttle is pulled back!!!!!).

It was combined with Webcam WEB70-102 (valve lift 0.310/0.31 and durations at 0.050" 268/268) which work really nice across rev range, ported/polished head with later model valves (cant remember exaclty which ones though).

Definatley right thing to get it all done at the same time, as you say, you wont ever get back around to it. Hopefully soon Ill get the 34mm flatslides up and running and let you know how they go.
