    Tingate Exhausts still available

    Hi
I have a Tingate exhaust on my 1100 Kat . The headers are almost ready for the tip. Due to the rust.
The part number or build number on the system id KAT 488
I have scoured the internet for info on a Tingate replacement exhaust, But I have come up with nothing. The latest info I can come up with on Rod Tingate is back from 2009 .
There seems to be no website for TINGATE RACING DEVELOPMENTS .
I see a few places overseas sell Tingate Clipons and rear sets, But no exhausts.
Does anyone from Victoria know if TINGATE RACING DEVELOPMENTS is still running please?

    Cheers Simon

    Hi Simon.
He is still kicking and did a special run for this site. But it was for a fair quantity of pips and a one off. I cant find his contact number, but Im sure some one may have it here.
If no luck from Rod maybe some good exhaust mob maybe able to replicate it?.

    Hi Nige
cheers for the info. Looks like I got motivated too late , in getting the Kat back on the road.
I read a small article last night on the Rod Tingate SR500. It seems Mick Hone knows him, from back in the racing days.

Give this a try, if he wants numbers to do another batch I'll be in for another one.

    Cheers

Thanks Max. I have to fly back to work tomorrow. If I get a chance during the week , I will give him a call.
I ordered a megacycle system today. Just incase i get the bike running next break off work. But I am still very interested in getting the Tingate system , or find someone in Bunbury that could make something similar in stainless.

I did find a new slip muffler that i might put on the megacycle system today

Sorry to jump in and this is probably old news, but I did contact the guy who makes the motoGPwerks slip-on - he would not sell it separately from an entire system.

These guys appear to make a very nice system and when I enquired total cost including freight seemed reasonable for what it was:

I had a set of O'Brien headers and muffler on my orignal Kat - they were awesome. Phil O'Brien still seems to be getting around.

Anyone had any experience with these guys?

Hi Muddy/Simon, I have a stainless 4/1 for sale which you can still use the centerstand and it comes with a centerstand rest and you can retain the rear footpegs mounts. Negotiable and can post Australia wide. Its in the classified section. Cheers Andrew.

That's the MotoGPwerks system. Chris is a good guy - expat Kiwi living in the US, ex 500GP and Yoshimura mechanic. Makes some very nice stuff, remarkably reasonably priced.

I agree with Ben about VSB. I bought my windscreen and seat cover from him and it was like 2 weeks to my door from Canada. Had the seat cover fitted by a local upholster and it is great. Good communication throughout.

    G'day Andrew

Thanks, but at this stage I'm not looking for a full system - I've got a 2" 4-1 system that I am planning to convert to a 2.5" 4-1 system and I'm looking for a nice slip-on muffler to suit.

    Regards

    Muddy
