No. I was interested. However I left 3 messages'' received a email saying they would call which they never did. So I just gave up. Something did not add up and the seller was not keen to supply the VIN. Then the story of the no VIN?????? And no answer to the question of what is listed on the rego papers.

    Something is not right.

Now see you are all being to literal - it says it was originally built as a race bike but deosn't say by whom? It may have a racing history but doesn't mean it is factory? No Vin listed again - I thought it was illegal to list without a vin? And can't be registered without one? Maybe in Tasmania the rules are different.

Hi Paul, there are no race bits on that machine, my guess is the listing is implying that it was "built" by Suzuki as a Race Kat given they are calling it by that bogus title that never existed "Bathurst". Until it is proven to be a genuine E24 SXZ best to consider it as a garden variety 1100 Kat and then if it turns out to be an SXZ - bonus. The frame number will confirm if it is a genuine W.W. or a bolt on W.W. So without the frame number being provided makes it difficult to know what it is. As for V.I.N. a plate isn't needed to register the Kat (in some States) if the frame number has a registration history in Australia, it's rego history can be traced through PPSR.

    hi all

well i did my sluthing and visited the shop. actually spent more time looking at the 76'77' Torana SLR they were rebuilding in the front car park!

anyway, i can confirm there is no VIN plate, or holes in the head stock where one would have been.

there also does not appear to be any number stamped into the right side of the head stock where i would expect one to be.
curiously, the paint in the front of the steering head is worn down apperently by the throttle cable and other lines. does not appear to have been sanded but looks like rubbing over a long period of time - which in itself is a concern.

    Hobart Race 1100.jpg

did manage a sneaky pic of the engine number if that is of any help, sorry missed the first part but was GS110X-
exhaust is not original 4-2 with 6 holes around center outlet but could be a special build or aftermarket repo.

    cheers

accepting that it is an old bike, the bike appears a little tatty for only 50 odd thou k's

but, it does have Tassie Rego plate on it!

did you happen to snap or write the rego number? I should be able to find a VIN from that.
