    Left Hand Engine Cover.

    Hi all.

Does anyone have a 1983 Kat 1100 LH Engine Cover they would be willing to part with?

    I don't know!
It started leaking just before I went to wash it!!

On another note... Does anybody else know how heavy a 1983 1100 Katana is to lift off the ground??

I should be able to bring said cover tomorrow.

On my first kat when I used to live in Sydney, around Homebush way there was a section of road that I used to launch both wheels off the ground, so, I would say not real heavy, just twist that throttle a bit...

You say more throttle, I say check the side stand so you don't have to pick it up! Not my proudest moment.
My fault, I should have said "pick it up" not "lift off the ground". But I do like your thinking...

lol, ok I'll put my hand up. Dropped my 1st bike a old school gsx 750 outside local chemist, after realising the side stand wasn't down panic ensued then the fatal realisation of the inevitable akin to those on the Titanic. Luckily only damage was red face lol

After several years of owning my bike the gear box cover sprung a leak , I can not remember if I was going to wash it , any way I just replaced the gasket and no more leak, simple , but maybe your leak is in the area where the side cover got ground down from a stack and it has been patched up with some metal filler ,can you post a photo ?
as far as weight of the bike goes they are about 1/4 tonne with a full tank of fuel .

I like the yellow sticker Patrick
Preservation before restoration - they are only original once
