    Webike goodies...

I don't know if this has been put up on the forum already, but this looks dead sexy:

It's hand-made and rather lightweight aluminium (Derek, I'm looking at you) - http://japan.webike.net/products/21788532.html

At $1400USD, I dare say it would make a cost effective alternative to a rusty, dented second-hand tank from fleaBay too...

Thanks for the Kat Porn Paul. I agree that for a replacement tank these are good value compared to the $1,000 now being asked for the few remaining new O.E.M. Kat tanks that turn up for sale. I plan on buying one to keep the Kat running rust free fuel for the next 20 years or until the Gubba-mental types ban Kats from the roads for being too much fun.

Glen there is a guy in Sydney that does these tanks in aluminium and all you need to do is get your old tank to him and he can use this as a template and it is not cheap, many dollars. I have lost his number and if you want to contact him call Mototec motorcycle repairs at Smithfield N.S.W. and ask for John Alman and he will give you details.
You always meet a better class of people who ride and enjoy Motorcycling

Just spoke with John at Mototec, a good bloke to talk with and he was telling me about a Katana resto he has just completed for a customer. As for the ally fuel tank John said he doesn't make them anymore. However, he did mention that there are ally tanks being made in Sydney and the cost is $3,000-$4,000 depending on the amount of work needed and you provide a tank as the template. Webike is looking better now with the one way freight from Japan and cost of the tank compared to the cost to send a tank to Sydney and then pay for two tanks to be returned and the local tank costing almost three times the price of the Webike Kat tank.

Thanks for John's details Nick, appreciate the help mate.

    Cheers.

I purchased an alloy tank from webike, looks great took 5mths to get, love it.
    Freight was free.
If you spend any than $500US they ship for free.
I have also ordered a yoshi tank , but they cancelled my order as yoshi were out of stock and couldn't tell me when they were going to make more.
    But I will get one.

Hi people Im new to KA, but I flew to Melbourne from Perth recently and while I was in Melbourne, I found a brand new old stock 1100sz fuel tank complete with decals ready to put on $798. I think he said he had another one and could get more if asked. Cant remember name of the place but it was a motorcycle wreckers in Coburg Victoria at the end of the tram line Sydney Rd/Hume Hwy. My kat is running well now after being run off the road by a 75yo pensioner driving thru a give way sign across two lanes of traffic. The kat has a zxr front end, brakes, braided lines, zxr swingarm and uni-shock, 180 rear tyre, 17s front and back, zxr rearsets, and you can throw it around like a bmx.
