    Geoff Perry

    Geoff Perry.

Probably not a well known name in Australia, but he was a works Suzuki rider and a contemporary of riders like Kel Carruthers, Paul Smart, Jarno Saarinen, Yvon Du Hamel and Kenny Roberts. An incredibly gifted rider, he perished in a PanAm airliner crash taking off from Tahiti on his way to race at Laguna Seca in 1973.

AMCN ran an article on him about 6 months ago. http://amcn.com.au/editorial/not-forgotten/

Here is an archival documentary video on Geoff Perry that just appeared on YouTube. It shows Perry racing at Daytona in 1973 not long before his death. The documentary is edited by NZ Director Roger Donaldson who ended up in Hollywood, and directed The World's Fastest Indian.
