    Another dreamer...

Honestly, if this is someone here selling this, you really need to think long and hard about that starting price.

I dunno about anyone else, but I'd struggle to give you less than half of that price for that mess - red leather seat, red frame, red guard?
Well done ruining the look of arguably the prettiest Kat...

And, you've got the wings on backwards!

It has copied (admittedly not 100% correct) the style of a "JDM 1987 GSX1100SBE"

One for the unpopular vote here... I think it looks great

Of course I'm not in the market to buy it though... although that price is definitely on the high side... of course it's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it right?
    1984 Katana 7/11 - done at last!

    1982 GS450E - not quite stock

This Idiot is still trying and he needs to have a long hard look at himself as no takers, yet Ian is correct why is he trying to sell a model that is not correct.

You always meet a better class of people who ride and enjoy Motorcycling

    Ah, I see now.

I retract my comments about how it looks.

But it's still way too expensive.

I don't get why people get upset about what someone asks for their bike - mate it's their friggin' bike they can ask what they like. The sooner people realise that the days of $5,000 1100 Kat's in rideable condition is gone the better. If they get what they ask better for all. It's not as if you are wanting to buy one? And if Suzuki see that there is value in the old banger then they may stick it in their classic program and start remaking bits which benefits all of us.
    Gone riding!

I reckon it makes us all (and by 'us all' I mean Kat owners in general) look a bit retarded is all.

It's like "you want to play in our sandpit, stump up the readies or piss off".
    Eh?

And, while it may help to push values up for current owners, it also reduces the pool of potential buyers.
Pete's a perfect example - you now can't get a dunger for less than $4k...

Let's face it, apart from styling, there's nothing overly remarkable about a Katana.
An equivalent GSX1100 is at least as nice a bike to ride, if not more so given its riding position.
It's the supposed legend and artificial and arbitrary inflation of prices that makes them 'special'.

More than $16k for one as a starting price is a bit ridiculous.
Better, and possibly more collectible machinery is available for less than that.

Sure, a really nice original bike should be able to pull good coin, but just because you put a new paintjob and switchgear on one doesn't suddenly make it virtually unsaleable.

Couldn't agree more to be perfectly honest +++1
