To keep in some perspective, a car equals lots of air Bourne media each coat. A Kat will be significantly less each time you shoot a coat. Still bad but much less noticeable. Well so I found when painting Yamaha scooters.

Yes one thing for sure is that the most I'll be spraying at one time is the front cowl, four side covers, tank, front guard, and tail piece... a lot less than a car for sure.

    And nothing too mysterious Eric

Thinking a coarse inlet filter in front of the intake fan and a better intake filter behind it (keeps crap from getting in and keeps the fan out of any fumes/overspray.

On the exhaust side, proper spray booth filter material in front of and behind a fan, and a charcoal filter as the final stage.

For the exhaust fan I'll endeavour to make up something similar to the one John posted as a quick search on eBay shows it shouldn't be an expensive project at all, especially if an old pedestal fan can be adapted to do the job. All it's gotta do is "encourage" the air to circulate in its direction whereas the intake fan will force the air in for positive pressure.

For a home setup, probably overkill and unnecessary, but hopefully should eliminate a lot of the issues.

I've been thinking about one for a while. I alway keep my eyes peeled and I noticed the aircon guys at work the other day putting new units in throughout so I asked if I could have one of the fans off the old units and voila.

Weather proof and German made. Winning.

I did ask for another one for you Pete but this was the only bolt on one, the rest were inside the units.

Good score Ben! I had a bit more of a chat with John yesterday, still tossing around ideas at the moment. All a bit of a moot point at the moment until the electrician gets around to contacting me to organise a time to get power to the shed...
