Swedish winters are long,cold and dark,so i got back into building models to pass the time,i have always been into r/c cars and started to restore 80's Tamiya cars such as the Sand Scorcher and Blazing Blazer but the 1/12 scale bikes are fun to do too,only finished one so far,a Katana of course and soon a pop-up will join it and then a few others,anyone else here a modeller?

Yup - comes and goes, unfortunately the big kits seem to take up most of the available time, although it is good for really cold winter days. Must go and have a look so I can remember what's there, but I know there is a Mach 3 and a Kat 1100 kit. I also got two busted up but complete z1300s fro resto when I bought the big one. Lots of cars hidden away somewhere as well.

a nice piece of polished Mahogony ( no, not my pe^!s ) as a base with a cobblestone top from kits in WW2 tank modeling etc. that will allow me to place a on/off switch on the end and brass name plate on front. definatly need to get into it during my long service leave as finance manager will be in france /spain for 4 weeks:)

Now your talking, I funded my Kat purchase and its first rebuild by selling this;

1/32 scale gauge 1 V2 loco. 100% scratch built from sheet and bar stock in steel brass and copper.
a working model Live steam, burns camping gas.

Used to have a train affliction, Katana seems to have cured that!

Hat's off to you John and other scratch built modellers,building a plastic model is small fry compared to a job like that which probably took you years,i remember going to a model railway exhibition in Wales years ago and seeing locomotives like yours built and being built and know the skill and man hours involved to create such a thing.
