Hi there KA members, a mate and i have been discussing going over to the Malaysian Moto Gp in 2015 and would like any feedback from others that have been there as to flights and accom including vehicle transfers. I have sent an email off to Frankie and if anyone is interested in going let me know. Once Dorna releases the dates i will be in a better position to make arrangements but i will only have five days up my sleeve to travel over there and return.

Hi Nick,

I lived in Thailand from the start of 2009 to the end of 2012, and in 2011 I went down to KL for the weekend of the Moto GP. The track is some distance away from the KLCC (city centre) but transport is easy and cheap to obtain. The hotel your staying at will arrange it for you or grab a friendly taxi driver, give them A few bucks to stand by at they will wait all day for you.

I bought my tickets online and the website was fantastic as there are webcams so you can look at the view point form all the stands and pick the one you want.

Air Asia is a Malaysian company and they flight direct from KL to Melbourne, so I guess they will have flights to Sydney too. There a good economy airline and I have used them extensively for bouncing around South Eastern Asia when I was living there doing my other favourite pastime, scuba diving.

Happy to talk to you more about the nuances of the Malaysian GP at the World Supers.

Phil.

Thanks Phil, all good on this end and have been given heaps of good information and we will be staying in KLCC, and do the tourist thing on Friday in KL and then commute to the track on Saturday and Sunday. The Hotel we will book into has airport transfers and Air Asia looks to be the carrier to use. I only have 5 days to play with so all is ok for what we want to do and hope we can get others to travel with us. I hope to see you at the World Superbikes at Phillip Island in Feb 2015.
