This is how the baby kat looked when I bought it for Lesley. It looked really great but was a little rough with very poor maintenance issues, master cylinder held on with a cable tie and will sorts of bits and pieces.

Then, once Lesley had seen a red Kat, that was it, she wanted red. She even laid claim to my red and white ST. Since then with the help of Shaun Roe we have been really cleaning the kat up repairing and tiding the bodgy bits. At the same I have been chasing parts and with the help of a great friend - I.E.C. found all the correct red coloured parts required. Then sent the tank to be painted which has turn in to a huge marathon and taken forever. At the moment, she still thinks we are waiting for the tank to come back from the painter. Shaun and I have been quietly working on it a while. I snuck the finished tank home on Tuesday night and I commenced my leave yesterday and with Lesley still at work, Shaun and I were able to finish the bike without her knowledge. Now hidden in the workshop, covered. The plan is to roll it out of the workshop to give it to her on Christmas morning. This is going to be fun!

Yes, I am quite excited. The paint work is far superior "in the flesh" as it really sparkles with the metallic finish. I would really like to get a SBE like yours.

That is Shaun Roe and his infamous "Katana salute"

The SBE is out of rego at the moment as i am getting the Suspension overhauled on my '84 750 Pop up and that has taken allot of time and will end up costing a bit of coin.
Merry one and a Happy one to you and yours.

Brilliant!!!!! Not quite as I planned. Lesley followed me to the workshop as she had something hidden in her car for me. So my rolling unveiling did not go to plan. But she is totally over the moon. So hopefully that will be good for another bike or two in the future.

Fantastic Tom! These things never seem to go to plan but I bet the smile on her dial was worth every bit of effort put into the baby Kat :D
