Hey Guys,

Trying to help my uncle with the Katana decide on a new bike, he wants something comfortable to ride long distance as well as short distance riding.

He has chosen either the V-Strom 1000 or the Bandit1250S.

Anyone got one of these or had experience with them?

Keen to help him decide.

Cheers Josh

My gut instinct says the Bandit... GSX heritage which is well known.

My mate Todd at work has a V-Strom 1000 and while it's not a bad bike, working on it and maintaining it is a bit of a PITA with all the fairings etc. There is also an inherent clutch weakness apparently although I'm not sure on the details there and if it's a year/model specific thing or not.

Thanks Pete,

I was telling him to go more towards the Bandit too.

So does this mean the Kat gets freed up so you can get your grubby little mitts on it??

I still have my TL 1000R Suzuki and turned her into a track bike and a wonderful machine also the Bandit is a good bike so enjoy the choice.

Yeah ive been told it's a big bike, would take up alot of garage space. ..... he might need to clear some of that space out....... haha
