I shed some light on a new toy this year, that a friend bid on at auction and got dirt cheap and offered it to me for that price... was stupid not to buy it, so i headed to newcastle with the car trailer, picked it up and then set to work.

Its a 2001 Peugeot 206 GTI, 2.0L 5 speed Hot Hatch.

Had it out last weekend at its first event and the First round of the state championship. Which tested very well! Started Great, Ended Shit..

That is the outcome of hitting a tabletop jump at 80-90kph and going over the tabletop and landing nose first on the other side of it. I had some nasty marks on my neck from the race harness and a sore back.

Heres a Vid of the stages i did, crash at the end. 6 Minute mark full opposite lock in a fwd!

I had a ball, even though i had to end up having hand and back xrays the next day, i'm still sore but the car is in the middle of being repaired and will be back this time at my home track in Awaba, NSW.

Cheers Josh

Looks like a barrel of fun to me Josh! My Mrs has a 2004 206 (not a GTi)... It'd probably be best for me to leave it in the garage :D

Ouch and glad all is ok and not much damage done to you and the car mate.

Finished putting it back together today, had to make a new radiator support for it and install another radiator and reinstall all the front panels, looks like a car again. Only thing is, the more time i spend on it, the less time i spend on the other projects.. Including the bike!

Ain't that always the way?

A stiffer rear bar may be in order to dial out some of that under steer but shit that looks sooo much fun. Cheers Murf.

It is alot of fun, i'm using it as a test bed for myself for next years plans. Most of the understeer is the driver unfortunately, was my first time out in the car and a fwd on the dirt, my next round is at my home track thankfully!

The Peugeot and myself hit the track again tomorrow, this time my home track. Pics and Vid to come.

Good stuff Josh, hope the day ends better this time!

Had a good day, Peugeot is very quick, i was having some issues with handling but i think thats more a RWD driver talking about FWD. One stage i bogged it in a corner and had to start the car and keep going and i was only a second slower than the 1st guy in my class. So i think there is plenty of potential there! Got a vid of the full day, when i get a chance i'll upload it.

Looks like a lot of fun.

Sounds like potential alright Josh, good stuff! Looking forward to the vid.
